Volgens ‘Utah Artsen voor een gezond milieu’ (UPHE) is houtrook is een belangrijke veroorzaker van luchtverontreiniging en giftiger dan sigarettenrook. UPHE vraagt de staat Utah om het verbranden van hout binnen en buiten in de meest dichtbevolkte gebieden het hele jaar door te verbieden.
